It was just another day with a lot to cope
Looking to hold on to a ray of hope
He smiled at me from heaven above
He said "worry not child, I send you showers of love"
and in a blink, the clouds engulfed and removed the gloom
the trees swayed in full bloom
the earth came to life as the rain sang its song
It was his way of telling me no matter what, I'll always be along!

For years, I have stood here, right where I am now. I have experienced various seasons and times. I cannot even begin to count the number of people I have known, some who passed by and some that left a footprint.
Though, everyday is a new learning for me, I have never spoken in all these years, however, I now think if I could speak to those who rest under my shade, if I could tell them something that would make their day, give them strength, give them the reason to carry on, then I would feel elated about my existence.
and I know that there are enough and many resources that impart wisdom, am I just another one of them, no I am not, I am not wise and I do not impart any wisdom, I speak from what I have learnt on ways to make life simple. Of course, what I speak has often been spoken, written and narrated but the relentless optimist in me says, what if you have not heard those other resources or what if what I say makes more sense at this time because you need to listen to this now, then I'd be depriving myself of that joy of a blessing. You see, I am a collector of blessings! I feel it is the most precious thing I have by God's grace.
Hence, the speaking wood was born, if you have read my words and benefited from them in any manner at all, big or small then I the speaking wood would have achieved my purpose. Do leave your footprints, I need to listen too
